“I was drawn to this particular corner of the Sheffield cityscape because the collection of historic and modernist architecture epitomises the growth the city has enjoyed over recent years, along with its industrious past. The warmth of the brick and signature rusty steel plate is complemented by the harsh late-afternoon light entering to highlight the 70s concrete, making for a high-contrast composition. For me, the silhouetted figure and the way-marker suggest a story yet to be told for the city.”
